Social Worker

Applicants must apply separately for each announcement in order to be considered. Provides mental health services, as necessary, to patients in community settings, such as mental health clinic, outpatient medical clinic, schools and Mescalero Care/Elderly Center. Performs comprehensive assessments focusing on multiple presenting problems requiring utilization of the DSM IV-5 diagnostic criteria, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions and continuity of care as identified with the patient and/or family. Provides services that range from admission, crisis intervention, education, and client referral, discharge planning in assisting clients with any changes in social roles, future expectations, and life goals precipitated by changes in health status. Provides evidenced based treatment (Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolong Exposure, EMDR, and DBT) to patient suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or Trauma related symptoms and substance abuse. Provides assessment to patients with substance use disorders and provide evidence-based interventions such as motivation interviewing to assist with the cessation of substances. Serves as an advisor, consultant, and resource person to other persons who are involved with patient treatment and care, such as medical staff, operating officials, community resources, tribal organizations and community agencies in a culturally sensitive manner. Routine duties shall include providing social work services to individuals eligible for services provided by the IHS in homes, schools, clinics, job sites, and other community locations within the Mescalero Service Unit. Refers coordinated mental health services with outside agencies to ensure appropriate referrals, follow-up and continuity of care. Develops and maintains sound working relationships with Service Unit staff, government and private agencies; utilize outside resources effectively. Works closely with Social Services and Tribal Human Resources to coordinate patient care. Coordinates and provides school-based counseling and liaison services. Degree:
Social Work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council in Social Work Education. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
providing a full range of professional clinical mental health services of complex technical difficulty including evaluation, diagnosis, consultation, counseling, referral, psychotherapy, crisis intervention and treatment of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders to patients and families. This position requires a current, unrestricted U.S. State license as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or a Certified Independent Social Worker (CISW). The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
